How do we draw the engine of an electric car? how does the engine work?
i have to combine a car, boat and a plane that is environmentally friendly and i have to draw the engine and I'm thinking about an electrically powered vehicle, i just cant find a simple engine to draw and understand.
Did you see those Huell Howser programs on electric cars and bio fuels?
They were 2 separate episodes. In the first one he showed a documentary film called something like Who Murdered the Electric Car, and it showed how the electric cars were so efficient, requiring no oil changes and maintenance other than tire checks every 7,000 miles, that GM did a mandatory recall of ALL of them. It showed how they make so much money off of parts and services, that the electric car was bad business to both the oil companies and to the car manufacturers. They went to every single person who had purchased them, towed them away and took them to a location where the brand new cars were all destroyed despite protests from the owners. In the program Huell went to a car museum where they gave him a ride in a Hybrid car similar to what they have today, but it was invented in 1915 They also had an electric car which we don't even have today. They stopped producing them because it was more profitable to make oil based ones that have carburators and require oil changes, to make more money off.GM is now going to reintroduce the electric car at the end of this year only because Toyota, who GM has been withholding the battery patent from, has finally invented a battery on their own so they are going to go ahead and start releasing them. But unfortunately both GM and Toyota have signed deals with the oil companies in which they won't make them 100 % electric like the ones GM had released in 2002 and recalled, but instead a hybrid of fuel and electric which sucks In another of his shows he had this guy who puts vegetable oil straight into his Diesel car. It is 100 % natural. No oil or gas is used. He said the technology was invented in the 1880's but the oil companies didn't allow their production. He goes around local restaurants, collects the oil they dispose after frying food in them in buckets once a month and has enough to fuel all his cars for free, based on vegetable oil.Another car Huell was driven in at the museum was a 1925 steam car. He rode it around the neighborhood like a regular car, but it was run only by steam from water. It required no oil, fuel or gasoline. You just put your hose in the car, and from the pressure of the steam not sure how the physics works it transports the car. That particular one used to belong to Howard Hughes and was made in CA in 1925. There's another one that Jay Leno now owns he said. But again the oil companies made the car manufactures stop producing them, and it wasn't profitable for the car manufacturers either since no parts would require maintenance or replacements other than the tires.

Why can't an electric car battery recharge itself?
When a normal car battery dies, it recharges as we drive, so why not the new electric car batteries? And if they are made differenly, then why not have two batteries in each car, one of each kind, with a switch over when necessary?
Is there a way to remove the speed limiter on an electric car?
I've heard that the speeds of vehicles like the Tesla Roadster and later the electric Audi R8 will have their speeds limited to 125 mph. But the amazing acceleration on the Roadster would suggest it can actually go much faster. So is there any way to remove the limiting on these types of electric cars, or is it almost impossible to bypass?

Why can electric cars only go 100 miles before they need a charge?
I heard about the 2012 Ford Focus electric car, but it can only go 100 miles before needing a charge. Why can't they be designed with two batteries? One battery would be charging like with an alternator while the car is moving, and when the current one gets low, all the driver would have to do is flip a switch. It would transfer power from the second battery while the first one now charges.Also, why couldn't these have been built 10 years ago? It seems quite strange that we can put a man on the moon 40 years ago, but we still can't build a decent electric car without major limitations.
Is an electric car fan better than the standard?
My new car has had an electric fan put in by the previous owner, in what i believe was an attempt to improve bhp. Now I'm wondering, if this fan efficient or not? I believe it only turns itself on once the engine reaches a set temperature, as to not put a drain upon the fanbelt. However are there any disadvantages to an electric fan that only spins when needed, as opposed to a mechanical fan which spins all the time?

I just want to know what people are thinking about the new completely electric cars that are starting to come out. Chevy Volt for example Personally I don't think they are all that practical, sure in places like california or anywhere with a warm climate i suppose, but what about cold climate locations. Having an electric heater would suck up all the battery life. And also, it wasn't that long ago 2003 i think that we had a marjor northeast blackout. Well.. what happens when everyone plugs their cars in at night? Now there is huge demand on our power stations which many still run on coal. how is that any better?Personally i rather see dirty cars getting pulled off the road and replaced with normal cleaner cars, and getting coal burning plants shut down. The electric cars wont replace people's cars if they are big highway drivers, it's going to be a replacement for people who drive short distances in the cities and probably use small efficient cars anyways To me this is all media making it sound like it's some great thing but in actuallity it's not all that practical and wont even put a dent into our total emissions. Thoughts????
